If you look at the attendance figures for the rallies on Norderney over the past 10 years, you inevitably find that interest in this traditional event has been steadily declining. Perhaps this is also because the topics are repeatedly presented unchanged, in almost the same sentences\u2014albeit with different speakers, but still with the same content time and again. Affordable housing, social benefits that must not be cut, working hours that must not be extended, and the retirement age are the recurring themes. Of course, these are also the main issues for employees; however, it would also be good to see a proposed solution from the trade union\u2014unfortunately, that is what is missing. If the local branch chair then criticises a party by name but takes it completely out of context, one is entitled to ask whether that is an appropriate portrayal. And if that very local branch chair, less than two hours later at the same place, announces his nomination in the SPD for the local elections, then the whole thing also leaves a bad taste. Is this electioneering??
